The last time I heard something this beautiful was when I first discovered the music of Enigma. It was sometime in the 1990s, and then again around the year 2000. Nobody could have told me how amazing it would feel to hear those songs for the first time.
I still remember those nights. The music was playing on a cassette, late at night, when I was in a rather euphoric state of mind. Those were beautiful times, and the memories have stayed with me all these years.
Listening to Hipnotique by Suleymer brings back something similar.
It’s difficult to explain the beauty of the female voice in the background. It sounds distant, almost like an echo coming from somewhere far away. There is something about it that reminds me of Enigma, although Hipnotique seems to have a character of its own.
The softness of the music, the rhythm, and that haunting voice repeating itself create a feeling that is difficult to put into words. It’s the kind of music that can take me away from everything around me, almost into another dimension.
What makes this music so special to me is the way everything comes together. The gentle electronic beats, the beautiful melody, and the distant voices seem to exist in perfect harmony. Nothing feels excessive or unnecessary. There is a certain calmness in the music, yet underneath that calmness lies an emotion that keeps growing the longer I listen.
It reminds me of those late nights when the world seemed completely different. There were no smartphones, no endless scrolling, and no constant distractions. Just a cassette player, a quiet room, and music that could make an ordinary night unforgettable. Sometimes I wonder whether the music was more beautiful back then or whether we simply experienced life differently.
Even the girl in the music video reminds me of the Turkish actress Hazal Kaya, adding another layer of beauty to the whole experience.
But what stays with me most is the repetition of that female voice. There is something deeply emotional about it. It brings back memories of someone, perhaps of a time when love felt completely pure, when even the smallest feelings meant everything.
There is also something fascinating about how the same melody can feel different depending on when you listen to it. During the day, Hipnotique might simply sound like beautiful electronic music. But late at night, when everything becomes quiet, those repeating voices begin to feel almost personal. The melody seems to carry something familiar, something that belongs to a different time in life.
I think some music has the power to make us miss things we cannot even explain. It could be a person, a place, a particular night, or simply the way life once felt. Hipnotique gives me that feeling without needing to tell a story through words.
Maybe that is what makes certain songs so beautiful. They don’t just entertain us. They remind us of people, places, and moments we thought we had left behind.
And sometimes, for a few minutes, the music makes those memories feel alive again.
